My Tent: Cabela's Westwind Deluxe 8
Researching my tent, I found very little outside of the reviews on Cabela's website. The pictures were poor quality, and there were no videos. Even google-ing this tent found few results. Brief mentions, but no pictures or videos. I decided to take a bunch of pictures and even shoot a video overview of the features of this tent. My wife and I love this tent.
Note: the updated version of this tent has different colors, but it is essentially the same tent. Cabelas also sells 4 and 6 person models.

ReplyDeleteHow is the ventilation with only the two doors and the roof?
ReplyDeleteIt is actually very good. Obviously if the sun is beating down on the tent it is going to be warm, but the doors are big enough and the enough of the roof is ventilated that the ventilation is quite good. Also, because there are so many guy-out lines on the rainfly, the air can circulate. Also, if the weather is clear you can just take the rainfly off and have even better circulation. I have no complaints.

ReplyDeleteThe first time setting it up it poured on us and rained much of the weekend. There was no leakage whatsoever and the vestibule was great for wet shoes and other stuff. We've also had no issues with condensation in the 4 times we used it.

ReplyDeleteI would say go with 8 person. Unless you are pressed for space, you won't regret having the higher ceiling and more floor space. I have the 8 person and last summer it was just myself and my wife. Now we have a baby (4 weeks old) and the pack 'n play will fit great with plenty of room. I'm also 6'5'' and I love being able to stand up.
